The Youth Empowerment Services (YES) Bed Stuy is a cross-sector partnership to provide meaningful education and employment opportunities to create financial security and economic mobility for our participants. We provide out-of-school and out-of-work young adults of the Bed Stuy neighborhood ages 18 to 24 years old with essential skills training, professional credentialing, wraparound services, and meaningful employment opportunities.
Our Approach
Young adults are looking to workforce development as a solution for the opportunity and wealth gap. But in order to persist through job training programs & the arduous job search process, students need long-term support and guidance.
By working together across 13 NYC-based nonprofit organizations to provide a pool of quality programs and wraparound services, we can reduce the number of young adults who are out-of-school & out-of-work in Bedford Stuyvesant.
Barrier Removal Services
Housing. Food. Metro Cards. Financial Literacy. Career Coaching. The road to a stable and gainful career is long and the obstacles to get there can be difficult to overcome. Our partners pool resources to support participants and provide a wealth of wraparound services which are often difficult to access. Our resources help get young adults to the finish line.
Long-Term Career Support
Choosing the career field that fits your interests, skills and long-term goals takes time to determine and even longer to cultivate. That’s why we work across partners to track students success and offer continuous support through our case management team. Our network of support ensures that program alumni never slip through the cracks.
